Maison de Belles Choses (House of Fine Things) opened its doors in 1999 as a specialty store on Sacramento Street in San Francisco offering unique clothing, accessories and furniture from France and Italy. It became a well-regarded place for people to find beautiful items of high quality.
Focused now on classic and smocked clothing for newborns to four-year-olds, (the age where you still have some say in your kids choice of clothing), the store aims to bring to you clothing that is not only great-looking on your child but distinctive from the offerings found in department stores.
In addition to our online store, we can be found at 6 Clement Street in San Francisco (cross streets Arguello and Clement, parking is easiest on Arguello.) We share a space with Marques, which offers antique jewelry, prints, table settings, and objets d'art. If you live in the Bay Area or come for a visit, please stop by and see us!
Here is Maison decorated for Bastille Day, 2008.
Hours are: M - closed, T - F 12-6, Sat 12-5, Sun 12-4.

For us, the birth of our daughter was the inspiration for continuing the company. Living on the West Coast, we had a challenging time finding classic smocked clothing similar to the ones we had grown up wearing and wanted for our child. It is with great pleasure that we now own Maison de Belles Choses and can continue to offer classic clothing for your kids. We hope you enjoy and find just what you are looking for here.
Fondly,
Jen and James
